5 Spring Cleaning Rituals for Your Life

5 Spring Cleaning Rituals for Your Life

A massive clean up around the house is a common ritual for welcoming spring. But Spring cleaning isn’t just for your home – it is cathartic, allowing us to get rid of the old and bring in the new! Why not take the same approach with your body and mind?

Autumn and winter have their place. The colder, quieter months offer introspection, relaxation, and abundance. We are returning to an extroverted, light, transformative time of the year. As Spring comes into full force, take the time to clear your body and mind from the inside-out.

Here are five spring clearing rituals to embody holistic spring cleaning:

1. Make a List and Set Intentions

Make a list of all of the things you love and desire. Then make a list of the actions in your everyday life. Compare.

This activity sounds simple but is extremely powerful. It can be especially helpful to reassess where your spending and devoting your time, money, and relationships. It can also help inspire motivation and more clear ideas on how to achieve your goals.

Set intentions for your short-term and long-term goals. Visualise yourself already achieving these goals. Grab a pen and paper and lay out a strategic plan with a timeline and steps of how to get there. Don’t be afraid to seek out help where you need it.

2. Honour your Rhythm

You know what greatly affects your ability to feel free and clear? Proper digestion.

Let’s go back to the basics: seek out a diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables, offering plenty of fibre. Fibre is incredibly important in our daily diet and yet many of us fall short of getting the recommended quantities. We either don’t get enough from the foods we consume, or we are not eating enough of the right foods.

If you don’t get enough natural fibre in your diet, and you struggle with digestive ailments, seek out a natural and organic alternative.

Organic Whole Husk Psyllium: Packed with soluble and insoluble fibre; super easy to add to smoothies, beverages, and food for a nutty flavour.

3. Practice Movement

Moving is one of the simplest and most refreshing activities we can do for our bodies. Spring is the perfect opportunity to try a new activity. It’s a great time of year to start something new. If you are feeling motivated, join a new gym or yoga studio.

More of an outside exerciser? Follow the tempo of springtime and incorporate a new movement practice into your life. Get outside and go for a walk, meet up with a rock climbing group, or go for a long bike ride. Savour the senses of spring and appreciate all of the new blooms, sounds, and smells that surround you.

4. Stay Hydrated and Don’t Forget to Breathe

Yes, sometimes it’s that simple.

One of the easiest things you can do for your health is to drink plenty of good quality water, and have a regular breath practice.

It’s no surprise that water helps us stay energised and remove potentially harmful toxins from our bodies. Dehydration can lead to headaches, fatigue, foul moods, and many other frustrating symptoms. If you don’t already, carry around a water bottle with you during the day as a way to help you remember to drink more water.

A regular breath practice can help reduce stress, increase oxygen absorption, and elevate mood.

5. Flow with the Season

What better way to welcome the new season than by picking up some organic produce at your local farmer’s market. Eating locally available fresh fruits and vegetables provides your body with the nutrients it needs to feel clean, healthy, and nourished.

Try making a healthy new salad, smoothie, or even juice up your favourite fruits and vegetables. There are plenty of recipes on the ORGANIC INDIA blog that can inspire you to step into a healthy, revitalised season!

Welcome Spring!
