Four Ayurvedic Skincare Recipes for Autumn

Four Ayurvedic Skincare Recipes for Autumn

By Organic India USA

Ayurveda recognises autumn as a transitional season for the mind, body and spirit — that includes our skin — not only the body’s largest organ, but the face the world sees.

If you’re concerned about products you use for your complexion, you’re likely aware that some conventional skincare brands use harsh chemicals that can be absorbed through our skin. What you may not be aware of is that your teacup may hold gentle beauty ingredients. It’s fun to make your own beauty products in your kitchen using nourishing gifts from nature, not to mention it can save money.

Here are 4 DIY skincare recipes that promote beautiful healthy skin using ORGANIC INDIA Tulsi, an amazing adaptogenic herb that helps support balance, stress relief and the immune system.

Tulsi Sweet Rose Face Spritzer

Ingredients:

ORGANIC INDIA Tulsi Sweet Rose Tea bags

1/3 cup of hot, purified water

Brew the tea in the water for about 10 minutes. The water will become very dark in colour. Remove the tea bags and squeeze the excess tea from each bag into the water. Let the mixture cool before pouring into a small spray bottle. Keep in the fridge, and spritz onto your skin for an all-natural pick-me-up!

Tulsi Tea Skin Scrub

If your skin took a beating during the hot summer months, this skin scrub is exactly what you need! Not only does it help remove dead skin cells, it leaves your body feeling silky smooth! Try applying to your body after taking a hot shower or bath.

Ingredients:

3 Original Tulsi Tea Bags

1/2 cup organic coconut sugar

6 Tbsp organic coconut oil

1 tsp raw honey

Brew the ORGANIC INDIA Tulsi Tea Bags in one cup of hot water for about two minutes. Let the tea bags cool to the point where you can touch them.

In a medium-sized bowl, squeeze out the liquid in each tea bag and mix all ingredients until they are well blended.

Store the mixture in a little BPA-free container or left-over toiletry container.

Tulsi Green Tea Face Mask and Exfoliator

Is your complexion looking dull? Liven it up with this easy-to-make face mask. This recipe also doubles as a skin exfoliator due to the loose leaf tea.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup filtered or spring water

⅓ cup Tulsi Green Tea

1 Tbsp raw honey

2 Tbsp Green Clay

Mix all ingredients together in a medium-sized bowl. Add more water if needed to make a paste. Apply the mixture to your face and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Gently massage in a circular motion with your fingers before rinsing it off with water.

Tulsi Hibiscus Tea Face Steam

Feeling stressed? Give this adaptogenic recipe a try! Not only does it relax and soothe your senses, it will help promote clear, beautiful skin.

Ingredients:

3 Tulsi Hibiscus Tea Bags

2 cups hot water

1 Tbsp dried mint

Transfer the hot water to a heat-resistant bowl or container. Begin brewing the Tulsi Hibiscus tea by dropping the tea bags entirely into the water and add the dried mint. Set the bowl on a table where you can easily sit and rest your head above the opening. Cover your head with a towel and breathe in the steam with your eyes closed. Do this for about 10 minutes or until the water is no longer warm.
